A few thoughts:

A- this is the longest I have taken to finish a book. It is a miracle I didn’t dnf

B- there was too much inner monologue and too little dialogues (literally! The characters hardly talked)

C- there was too much staring. Morana and Tristan stared each other that even crosses the limit I’ve stared at my kids and trust me, my youngest one is a little devil.

D- the story is itnriguing. Loved the twist. And the writing does get better by the end of the book and this could easily be my favourite, but I guess I just got a little bored because of too much monologue.

Tristan Caine is easily your favourite morally grey character ♥️
Am I going to read the next book in the series? Yes! Because I am curious what happens next and why is Morana’s father such a b*tch

This was a solid series opener!
Morana carried this book, she was def my favourite female lead I've seen in a while.

I forgot that the reason Larry (larryreads) hadn't picked this up yet is because it was in 3rd person and it was a little bit hard to get into because of that. I don't usually read 3rd person and I like 1st person because we can see inside the mc's head. This book did a surprisingly good job at showing us the inner monologue of both characters though!

One of the top reviews on this book talks about the staring and I feel I have to talk about it too because WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, every 2 pages they were staring at eachother like. Why?

the smut was good though, we love some hate sex here

the idea >>>>> the execution

this certainly had some highlights, but all the in between was just meh.

the writing? not great. oh and someone pls tell her she doesn't need to repeat every sentence 5 times.

I'm not mad I read it, cos despite myself I'm into Tristan x Morana, but I'll just say thank god for audiobooks, cos I wouldn't have gotten thru this hot mess otherwise.

Tristan was hot, if a bit too perfect and untouchable and the big, broody silent type is always good, but boy could've spoken a bit more.

Morana? for whatever reason I liked her or what she was trying to be, but like? I say this with love, but she was such a stupid bitch (albeit a self aware one, so there's that), which would be one thing, but we are constantly being told what a genius she is, but then her every move is stupider than the last.

people were not exaggerating the amount of staring going on in this book

Oh and the amount of Tristan Cain-ing? was insane, but what really took me out was when she dropped his full name not once, but twice (2) in a single (1) sentence
