I really enjoyed this book. The G.O.D.S. are like genetically engineered super assassins in training. Mr. Z is the evil genius who set this idea into motion and lost focus at some point turning friends and families into enemies. I’m anxious to read the rest of the series.

My only issue was it’s a reverse harem, but they are just 17!!! My mothering brain just kept thinking oh no no no you are so ground lil girl.

Okay now that I’ve had time to process that ending let’s get into reviewing this wonderful masterpiece.

First let me start off by saying Jolie is probably one of my favorite female lead character! She has been through so much from an accident that took her memories away to bouncing through foster care and now dealing with her past that she forgot about.

With the help of her social worker, Brennan, gets her relocated and placed with his own family. Here enters Boston, Laughn (he maybe psycho but man oh man I think he’s my fav

High school Sci fi
Genetically modified high schoolers
RH - 5 guys in this book 10 later in the series
MM - Not in this book but in later books

These books are kind of hard to keep up with, the story mostly makes sense but it's kinda hard work to understand what's going on, this first book was my favourite of the 3, but I think the series would have been better stopping at the second book

This just didn’t work for me—the storyline was all over the place and the characters were difficult to keep track of—which is a shame because the premise of the story was interesting. I’m not sure if I want to continue with the series.

〰️

*Author’s Note from Book: ”This book will confuse you, parts may not make sense at first because there are so many lies and half truths but I promise everything will make sense at the end. These characters are gentically altered and do things based off instinct over common sense at time and it’s fiction. This series is NOT paranormal, it touches on slight medical advancements set in current time. All abilities used in this book are very loosely based on real life cases or people who claim they have these abilities.”

What the f*ck was that ending? Some warning would’ve been nice. I didn’t expect that amount of trauma at the end of the book.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book, those twist interns had me wanting to read even faster. That ending… I had to decompress with a friend as we discussed our theories on what had happened and what will happen.

This was a unique story and it’s an interesting world is that the author has created. You just need to know more and I want to delve deeper into the mind of the (evil) genius that created this program and those that were created. What was the motivation? What are each of these steps? What are the end goals? How do these students feel about this program? Can they really lead normal lives? What is the purpose? So many questions, and not enough answers.

In regards to our main female character, her existence and what she has gone through… There are so many questions. Was it all a test? Which side is telling the truth?

Looking forward to some answers in the next books.

So, I’m invested in this book series. I’m going to be reading the next one. Will I enjoy it? Probably not. I thought the plot line was super interesting, the characters had great potential, the conflict was conflict-y enough. What truly pisses me of is the writing style in this book. I hated it. It was so choppy, and it felt like there was absolutely no build up. Girl makes a deal to sleep with every other GOD before one specific one, sleeps with one specific one first. Like, really? It felt like a slightly hashed out draft. Literally the only reason this is two stars is because I’m invested and want to see where it’s going.
