I went in fairly blind on what this book was about and was instantly rooting for Max/Jack as soon as I met him. I was at work and I wasn't expecting to get punched in the feels as hard as I was. This book was beautifully written and had normal people living life with it's normal heartbreaking ups and downs. No billionaires, no magic, and this story was so so much stronger for it.

Thank you to Jodi Niehaus for a copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.

This book was perfect. It felt real and personal and relatable as hell. Everything from the narration to the references made me fall in love with it and it was the perfect book to put me in my emotions while experiencing life through another persons eyes. Could not recommend this more!

Great debut! Really enjoyed this one. Didn’t know anything about it, but have seen it on bookstagram. Read it in a day as I couldn’t put it down. Loved Maddie and Jack and loved their story. It was cute, but heavy at times, but just felt like real life. I also love that it’s a fellow bookstagrammer that wrote this book! So happy to have had the chance to read it!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next ❤️

OKAY YEP NEW FAVE ROMANCE? This novel was unbelievable. I read it in one sitting, and it was everything. I didnt know what to expect going in, except that it was a romance with a heavy undertone.

I work with patients with dementia in my job, and this novel touched on the disease in such a tender way. I work with these individuals mostly once they are heavily afflicted, and I rarely see the disease in its early stages. It felt so important to have this reminder of life before dementia takes hold fully, and was such an incredible addition to this novel.

This book felt so real to me because of all the times I tried to make a boy love me, before I became strong enough to know that I am worth more than that. I loved every part of Maddie's strength and her big heart, her compassion, and her dedication, and her cool ass job. Jake was troubled in the perfect way, and an amazing book boyfriend.

This was one of the best debut novels I have read in a long time, and if you havent read this one yet then you really really should.
