Another strong entry in Kate Messner's series of early chapter books, Fergus and Zeke and the 100th Day of School stars the two irrepressible class pets and how they interpret the 100th day challenge. As always, Heather Ross' illustrations warmly complement the text, and children will enjoy all the different ways of learning about 100.

This book is a perfect book to celebrate the 100th day of school. It has ideas the kids could run with to make their own 100th day projects, examples of how things work, simple math lessons built in to the story, and over all of it is the wonderful Kate Messner writing she puts in all her books. I’ve been looking for a good 100th day book, and this one isn’t just good — it’s great!
