So much of the book could have been cut and it would have imrpoved the story. We had way too much inner dialogue back and forth and things being repeated or fleshed in painful details. This should have been trimmed and almost made me dnf the book but I wanted the conclusion in the end.
Also. Considering how dark themes the series explored Im surprised about the ending. A disney-like ending to a series that talks about SA, Child SA, physical and emotional abuse, literal torture, PTSD, etc, etc... wrong call imo.

After the previous book, this one flew by! I'm pretty happy with how it ended, even though
as soon as Theron gave up the dagger, I knew that was how they were going to close the magic chasm, not by Meira sacrificing herself.
There were also more than a few characters who felt like they died for dramatic effect purely because this was the last book, but my complaints end there. Having the finale resolve itself by the main character learning self-love and forgiveness as opposed to relying on the power of love or friendship or whatever was a refreshing change! Overall, the series took a lot of interesting turns that are fully explored by the end. A really satisfying read, and highly recommended!
