This was just okay. It redeemed itself from the second book in the series but, it has hard to become reattached to the characters and story when I didn't like that book so much. That being said, I enjoyed the teaching elements of this book and we finally saw some development of Mira's character in this one. I think it was just a little too late in that regard. It had potential but, especially regarding the anger towards her mother and Sir, it went on for too long. In some ways this showed how naive and young the character's are which is I suppose realistic but then, this girl is the queen of a country....I'm not sure, these characters were forced to grow up but didn't. I enjoyed the conclusion to the story but the last chapter or so was a little unnecessary.

It wasn't all bad, I enjoyed the fight scenes and the direction that this final book went in was great. It did give me every so slight game of thrones vibes towards the end there which was nice. Obviously, on a much smaller and child-friendly way. I also found myself routing for the romance in this book which completely contrasted by initial reactions - it never had any competition though really within the text itself. It was a cute relationship that in some ways reminded me of Mal and Alina from the Shadow and Bone series - but I actually cared more about the relationship in this case. This series is nothing groundbreaking but, not bad. I do think I will unhaul the first book though as I don't think I will be rereading it or by physical copies of the rest of the series anytime soon.

So another series has come to an end, and I guess it’s kinda bittersweet. Frost Like Night, in my opinion, reminded me of why I loved Snow Like Ashes, and overall, it’s a satisfying conclusion to the series.

To be honest, going into this book, I didn’t really have any expectations, considering what happened with Ice Like Fire. And while I was pleasantly surprised with how it ended, I actually didn’t really care much about the story and its characters as much as I did when I first started the series. I feel like some characters didn’t get the ‘screen time’ they deserved, Theron was practically non-existent in this book. And I think that we should have seen more of Sir/William.

So in the end, while it’s still not as good as Snow Like Ashes, Frost Like Night delivered a not great, but good conclusion to the series. I think that all the questions I had in the previous books have been answered and I think the story ended well. While there could be some improvements, I think that Sara Raasch is a talented author and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for her future works.
