This one had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. It reads like a Jordan Peele movie, which I hope the author takes as the compliment I mean it as. I would recommend this book to fans of thrillers or horror with smart social commentary as a main thread.

I really enjoyed this mystery! Gentrification is a complicated topic, and I really appreciated this perspective. I was rooting for Sydney the whole time!

i thought this was good, i think i just had the wrong expectations going into it. i wouldn’t necessarily classify this as a thriller. it was a pretty slow to start, and didn’t really feel like a thriller until the end. but, i think it’s a really important book, that talked about a lot of important things.

i did not see it all coming together like it did at the end. and it was just such an important perspective of the concerns of gentrification. loved it.

Thoughtful thriller
Read this one because it was on some recommended list, and I'm glad I did. Gets you thinking about race and changing neighborhoods.

Started off super slow. There was a lot going on and nothing at the same time. I picks up drastically at towards the end of the book. While I did enjoy this book the ending was very lack luster for me. I feel like it left me with more questions that could have been summed up within a few more chapters.
Overall it was an enjoyable read.
