This adorable comic chronicles the adventures of the puramus, mysterious purple creatures who inhabit the earth long after humans have disappeared (as far as we can tell, they all died). ⠀

But there's no time to be sad about the annihilation of the human race, because the puramus are so. stinkin'. cute! Way cuter than humans! The book spans hundreds of years post-humanity, chronicling different generations of puramus and the antics they get up to. I enjoyed all the stories, but my favorite characters are Box, Pot, and Bowl, fearless knights to their fearless king, who rides upon a flargle (also known as a skateboard).⠀

And really, are the puramus so different from humans, other than their freakish ability to eat literally ANYTHING and form giant stacks like Disney tsum tsums? No, no they are not. The puramus struggle with the fear of failure, with loneliness, and with boredom, just like us. So is the end of humanity such a bad thing? Not in this reality!⠀

I have never read or encountered the webcomic, so this charming book stands on its own merit. Kid and adult friendly, the Puramus will wind their way into your hearts before they kill you in some unknown and mysterious fashion.

For fans of alien invasions and quirky cuteness.

Simply put, I love this graphic novel and I don't have a bad thing to say about it. However, I did write a full review for The Beat, which you can read here: Review: WE ARE HERE FOREVER explores Earth post-humanity, & it’s perfection.

I also interviewed Michelle Gish and wrote about the We Are Here Forever webcomic, which takes place in the same universe but is separate from the graphic novel! More Puramus for everyone!

This was a quick, fun read! I really loved getting to know the Paramuses (Paramus? Parami?) and their ways of dealing with things. I highly recommend checking this one out; I know I'll be checking out the webcomic!

The alien? Creatures are cute but the book made mo sense at all. I am left mildly confused. 3 stars though cause I totally want one of these cute purple pig pillow budding amoebas.

I received this book via goodreads giveaway in exchange for my honest review.

This graphic novel was a quick read with a fun ending. I loved getting to know our little Puramuses (Purami?) and seeing them grow as a colony. The ending made it all the better to me!

We are Here Forever is about cute alien creatures that have taken over the earth after the extinction of humankind. Features comic-strip short narratives that follow the various adventures and questions these creatures have about their existence in an Adventure Time style.

Cute and weird and ominous. What more could I ask for?
