The Voice in My Head is a sweet short story set in the near future where people have an AI system built in their heads to assist in all manner of daily chores. When Izzy’s virtual assistant malfunctions in a catastrophic way she wakes up in the hospital and finds out she is in a trial for an experimental, more advanced AI. Izzy – formerly a very reluctant user – finds it harder and harder to keep her new and very personable assistant (named Chloe) out of her daily routine and her private problems.

Themes: a nice short with a little twist, PG-13, I like to read some more Ettritch to see what she can do with a full-length novel.
