I love how this series is unfolding so much. It was so cool to read a book from a non-binary introvert bookworm’s perspective! I wish more books had characters like Neelo.

To start, the plot in this one seemed to pick up a little. Even though, similarly to The Rogue Crown , I feel like the plot is being dragged and stretched thin to reach the next book.

However, I loved the main character's journey in this one. Neelo is honestly one of my favorite characters from this whole series now. What's not to like? They are a bookworm, they need to be protected at all costs, and they deserve some love and cuddling for a change. Enter Talhan, whom I love simply for accepting Neelo and unconditionally supporting them. Especially, I love their dynamics and their adventures. They are both so fierce and can see all each of them hides away from the others, it was amazing delving into their characters.

I can't wait to get to the next book, whenever it comes out. Hopefully soon, A. K. Mulford!
