Do you have girly girls who love tea parties? I know I do. In fact, we’ve taken whole days just to make teacakes and prepare for a tea party for our family. So, when I saw the book The Princess Twins and the Tea Party, I thought it might make an excellent addition to our home library for my girls to use as reading practice.

In this simple, easy-to-read book, Emma is trying to make everything perfect for a tea party with her friends, and she’s checking to make sure that everything is just right. She’s worrying and working hard, but as her sister reminds her, only God is perfect. Abby also reminds her to relax and enjoy the tea party. Sadly for Emma, just as the party guests are arriving, Puppy creates a disaster for the tea party table and tea. Yet, in the end, what matters is the good time that the girls have together.

It’s a cute, but very simple story. When I read it to my four year old, she had huge belly laughs as the tea party spun out of control. My beginning reader found that it was about perfect to match her ability level as she went to read it too. The story was enjoyed by all the children, and will make a welcome, and humorous addition to our family library.
