Jennette writes an insightful book of her life experiences, giving us a side of her fans could not have guessed. Her story proves that if you want to do better for yourself it is possible but it’ll take time and be uncomfortable; however well worth it. The over message I got from this autobiography is “You are not defined by your family or past”.

Absolutely heartbreaking chronicle of McCurdy’s experience with a narcissistic parent who exploited, abused, and coerced her into eating disorders & a struggle with addiction. McCurdy’s troubled childhood under her mother is one that anyone with an abusive parent can recognize, and her ability to find and create humor is a demonstration of her talent as a writer.
