I felt growing up with the author
Empathized with the pain she sad
It was a sad and beautiful story.
The unfortunate effect a parent can have on their child.

Painfully honest. What if you don’t always take the high road and forgive everything just cause someone died? And yes, it can be viewed as controversial and the list of TWs is quite large, but it felt therapeutic as well. It’s common to not speak ill of the dead, or even to idolise them. I’m rather for speaking the truth, especially if it helps the living to heal. And it covers way more than just the relationship with abusive parent, it takes you through a meandric pathway to mental health recovery.

I don’t think I can leave a starred review for this. How does one rate Jennette’s trauma? I’m glad she’s finding healing and a path forward.

Jennette McCurdy really lifted the veil with this one. This book was so brave and she broke it up magnificently with some dark humor. I have so much respect for her after this.
