Solid psychological thriller, especially for a debut novel. It does a great job depicting adolescent cruelty. If you’re listening to the audiobook though, the editing is TERRIBLE. Don’t get me wrong, the voice actor is great. It’s the editing. There are repeated passages throughout and, at one point, you actually hear the actor clear her throat and repeat the passage.
Graphic: Death, Rape, Sexual assault, and Sexual violence
Moderate: Homophobia, Sexual content, Kidnapping, and Stalking
Minor: Infertility, Suicide, Terminal illness, Death of parent, and Injury/Injury detail

Trigger warnings: Bullying, gaslighting, death of a child, suicide, kidnapping, domestic violence, sexual assault.
I had never previously heard anything about this book and I'm fairly certain I've never picked up another book by this author, but this one definitely left me wanting to seek out more of her work. There are a number of things about it that could potentially be triggering so that is something to be aware of, but the story grabbed me from the first page and I never did manage to figure out exactly how it was going to end. I didn't necessarily LIKE any of the characters, but they were very well written and I couldn't wait to see how it all unfolded. I definitely recommend this for anyone who's interested in ensemble thrillers.
