I've never really read a book like this and I'm not sure what to think about it. The world of Tainaron is fascinating and I loved learning about it, but it is the kind of story that opens more questions than it answers. I was not expecting to get answers to all my questions but I feel like too much was left open for interpretation. I still don't know who or what the main character is and where they came from and why. I still don't know who they were writing to. While the format of the book does allow the reader to explore Tainaron in a way that a book with normal storyline necessarily wouldn't, I think what I'm missing from this book is the story part. The book is fascinating and intelligent by all means, but maybe a tad too abstract and mysterious for me.
