I've been holding on to this book for a while, not really feeling the desire to actually read this one. Maybe it's been because the series have declined or become a bit more other worldly? Or maybe I just wasn't in the mood? I don't know. Now I finally got around to read it.

And actually enjoyed it!

There was some parts that weren't that interesting but then again there was parts that really surprised me. It's a romance, but with twists and a bit of actions. I loved meeting Spike and Tiger again, my favourite shifters. Broderick and Joanne were a bit hard to get to in the beginning, but in the end both ended up on the plus side. Broderick more so than his mate.

The thing that disturbed me was that
Spoiler we never got a real explanation to the cyber hacks and how the mysterious fae could target Cilla's loved ones if he needed the portal to come to this world. The scetchy explanation was not enough for me.

All put together, I would recommend this book and the series. I will continue reading the series and looking forward to the next installment.

It's easy to burn through these shorts in a day. Good stories that want you to keep reading.

I was not a fan of this story like I was with the other books in this series. The last few have left something to be desired. Joanne and Broderick had already met, already knew each other, and were already dating. The meeting and courtship is half the fun of a book, and this story lacks that. So this was not as good, not a lot of romance...which took the back seat. It was more adventures/investigation...trying to figure stuff out. There was no chemistry. Broderick is supposed to be an alpha, but he doesn't seem like it. His thoughts make him seem like he has low self confidence. He is reluctant to mate Joanne. And with no food reason. The book was boring, and lacks heat. And this series numbering is getting kind of silly. Having books with .5 is fine...but .25 is just too much.

I read this right after Lion's Eye, which is a good thing as you need that one to know who some of the people are in this one. Really neither one of these is stand alone as there are a lot of character and you cannot understand where they are in the hierarchy. It is kind of important since many people show up. It is a good edition and I liked both the main characters. We get more of Tiger and his foretelling. I don't understand why that makes him scary, him being able to best any of them, sure, but the foretelling is not. Tiger is a teddy bear.

After the previous few books, Broderick was not really a favorite shifter of mine. His role in taking in Joanne and her family, problems and all was very noble of him. I liked that, but still he was a bit brash for me. However, he started to win me over with his feelings for Joanne and how confused he was. He is responsible for keeping his family safe and now that includes a couple of humans.

Broderick and Joanne's story is full of danger and surprises. Joanne becomes very important to the Shifters with her coding skills while we learn some truly interesting information about Broderick. I was intrigued by Broderick's revelations and how they are going to relate to the Shifter world.

Broderick finding his way into realizing Joanne is his mate was fun. He was resistant, but there was so much pull. Joanne was confused by the signals she was getting from Broderick but I think she knew what she wanted.

Bad Wolf was an exciting, adrenaline filled novella with lots of surprises and even the beginning of a story arc I think. I learned to really like Broderick's character and I loved Joanne. I had a great time with this book. I don't like to compare, but I really do prefer Justine Eyre doing the narration, so this one took a little bit of getting used to. It did not take away from my love of the story though.

Maybe not the best "romance" but good in terms of overall plot advancement.

Shifter wakes up bound and blindfolded in a deserted house ...

Broderick has been kidnapped and is being held by a young woman, who appears at least one sandwich short of a picnic, who apparently was looking for the Guardian.

This was an engaging story about Broderick, who is by and large a cantankerous lupine, and his human girlfriend as they try to find this mysterious woman and understand why she wants Sean.

Jennifer Ashley manages to squeeze more story into a novella than some authors get into a full-length book and this is no exception. Expect to see plenty of old favourites from previous books including Sean, Spike and Tiger.

The story of Broderick, a wolf shifter who wakes up in an unfamiliar place, restrained and blindfolded, and right in the middle of a plot that involves shifters and the Guardian Network.

Joanne, who is an expert hacker, is tasked with helping him figure out what exactly the bad guys are after, and the two of them discover that
Spoilerone of Joanne's former students is involved. Apparently she was blackmailed into helping a fae find a way to open a portal between their two worlds, before her goal changed to saving the person who has high-jacked the fae's messages to plead for help.

The plan Broderick and Joanne formulate to foil the fae's scheme and help the man behind the messages, leads to them being transported to Faery, where they become captives. The man turns out to be a human and the brother of one of their friends who was thought to be dead but somehow ended up in Faery instead. With his help the three of them manage to escape and return home, more determined than ever to keep the Fae on their side of the world
.

Broderick and Joanna's adventure together brings them closer and they make the change from friends to lovers, before eventually accepting the fact that they are mates.

A short and fast paced story that adds more detail to the shifters' world and progresses the overall story arc of the series. Next comes another novella, [b:Wild Things|28153615|Wild Things (Shifters Unbound, #7.75)|Jennifer Ashley|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1449670631s/28153615.jpg|48167235], starring Broderick's brother Mason.
