He’s done it again, the bastard. This book is about a little shit of a protagonist and it’s still good. This is exactly what being an adolescent is like in terms of all the confusion, family drama, self-aggrandizing, poor decision-making, etc. An alternative title for it was apparently Discord and I’d say that fits too. All the women in this book are fantastic even when they do some morally shady stuff and there are a bunch of interesting themes related to the dual self and the chaos of human relations. There are also a bunch of “ad breaks” for Dostoevsky to share his opinions on religion but that’s just what you’re going to get. I’m devastated that I enjoyed reading this book.
