I’m just happy I took a trip to Smauggy’s Universe

I’m so happy I came across Smauggy’s books, They have never disappointed me. This book is absolutely amazing! The way the Blackbournes and Volkov are uniting is just beautiful to see. I can’t wait to see what else happens with Kiara, Leo and Alexander

I don’t know what my taste was back on Wattpad but these books just aren’t hitting like they used to. I’ve tried with The Eternals and skipped Gabriella’s story and my faves from Hackers without Remorse to read Kiara’s story and I hate it. Marshala’s story just took over and I feel like I know about her, Nick and Elijah than I do about Kiara and her boys. I was probably one of Smauggy’s biggest fans on Wattpad but now I kinda hate reading her books

I LOVED this book! At first I was confused after reading “Fourplay” (Book 4 of the Marvelous 3: Sons of the Elite Series by the same author) because it teased this series as a supernatural universe with vampires, witches, and werewolves (how the heck did we go from mafia crimebosses to bloodsucking vampires and witches in the same universe?) . But I am glad I read this book because this was a refreshing twist on vampires vs werewolves and it’s honestly one of the best supernatural books I’ve read . Some people made comparisons to The Vampire Diaries and Twilight, which I can see faintly, but this book is so much better in its worldbuilding in my opinion. I was hesitant to like Kiara and Leo/Alex, but I instantly loved the dynamic between Marshala, Nick and Elijah and I appreciated Leo and Alexander more for Kiara and their relationship as the stakes of it grew.
One complaint I would have is that it made me have to flip back to Fourplay because there were scenes in this book that made her other series even more important in the grand scheme of things, that I wish had been explained better in the other series. Also, the author states the chronological order of her books is “Family Ties”, “Fourplay”, “Hacker’s Remorse”, and then “Rise of the Phoenix” , but  I have NO IDEA how “Family Ties” segways into “Fourplay “ because  this books ends on a big cliffhanger (no spoilers).

And this book is nowhere close to 393 pages. That’s what Amazon says, but the formatting of this book on Kindle is wonky and the page numbering stops at chapter 14. There are 30 chapters so this book is easily ~700-800 pages. But every page was enjoyable and I don’t think I’d cut anything out.Maybe it’d go down to 650pages if “Angel” is cut out of Leo’s vocabulary😂

Dare I say this book was as enjoyable as “Malevolence” was to me in a different way. Cant wait to read the sequel

This book was so difficult to get through. I love harems, interracial romances, and fierce characters. However, this book was not giving what it needed to give. Not only is there too much of a resemblance to “Vampire Diaries” and even “Twilight” but the main character, is too much. We love goofy, sweet, and charismatic, but the main character was beyond any of those. She came off as dumb and naïve for her to be going to a University. It got to the point of not even wanting to continue reading it. Although I loved all the other characters, I think this book is definitely not worth it. Unless you like slow developing characters.
