An incredible and moving memoir. Wow. Elizabeth's life story is extraordinary and she is extraordinary. From childhood she had a dream to become 'the girl in the blue uniform' who saved her life. Against all the odds and with the love and support of her family and community she made it happen and has impacted thousands if not millions of lives through her work and advocacy. The thread through the book is 'ubuntu' - the connection and community between us all. And how we can only make change together. Elizabeth has lived all over the world but her love and pride for her continent of Africa and African people absolutely shines through the pages. I also learned lots too about pertinent issues like gender based violence. A great read.
