I originally DNF’d this at 14% but the Super Bowl had me wanting to read a football romance. I should’ve trusted my original instincts.

DNF at 30%

I am bored. I'm sooooo bored reading this. Its taken me a week to get to 30% which is not a good sign.

First book from this author so hopefully it's a one off.

I enjoyed this, but it was a little slow. I appreciate the attention to detail that the author put into this. 3.5/5 I may try to read again at another time

I can’t say that I loved this book, but I didn’t hate it either. It was just extremely Mediocre.
Ivy was a bit of an all-over-the-place kind of character and some of the things she said and did didn’t match what she was essentially trying to do because of her trauma etc. There are a lot of key elements of the book that we don’t get much insight on which made me feel like a lot of it was surface level.
THE REASON THIS GOT 3 STARS THOUGH WAS AIDEN. Boy was he a good male love interest. Pining over her the whole time, patient, understanding but with the right amount of sternness so she doesn’t let herself go under. Ugh what a good character AND HIS MOM was just such an icon.
Overall, felt like it was surface level a lot of the time when it came to Ivy and her backstory but Aiden and his mom are the only reason this got the 3 stars it did.

Had I read this a few years ago, I think I would have adored it. But the person I am now and what I look for in books has changed and this just missed the mark for me a bit. It's well done, but dark, and in a way I struggled to connect with the characters. I got on better with it then further I got, and I really liked the ending.

So a good read, just not really something I enjoy so much these days with the heavy angst.

I was honestly so tired of the back and forth with the FMC. She was a jerk yes but not just because of her circumstances but she was just a complete a-hole. Honestly if she had been best friends with Aiden and didn’t hold a grudge she shouldn’t have treated him like trash and I was just tired of it. It was so boring

Ummm, first of all, I thought this was kinda enemies to lovers or like a hate to love romance development, but it wasn't that, but it's still fine.

I think my problem with this book was the characters, especially Ivy, I mean, I understood where she's coming from, but from time to time, it felt really frustrating since there's kinda no development at all. Aidan kinda likeable, though, same with Ivy, I can't see any significant development of him nor the romance. I felt like it was somehow forced, and I honestly didn't like their romance.

Other than that, it was also underwhelming. The whole plot was not really giving, I don't know if it was the writing, the execution, or the pace, but I just know it felt underwhelming.
