I've been meaning to read this series forever--I bought the first book for my hubby for Christmas, expecting him to enjoy it. The day after he read it he came home from the library with the next 8 books. Now we're both working our way through the series. Great fantasy read, much faster than reading something like Wheel of Time or Mistborn, but every bit as interesting! We're really loving these books so far.

The only thing to complain about with this book is that there isn't really any especially original or interesting idea in it to spice it up. Otherwise it's an excellent piece of fantasy craftsmanship.
(well, okay, and the protagonist really learned to ride ridiculously fast, but that's the king of all nitpicks)
