I loved the banter in this book. These detectives had personalities which doesn't happen all the time in cop thrillers. I am for sure going to read more in this series.

Live Bait is an entertaining mystery that checks a lot of boxes including witty dialogue, good plot twists, appealing setting, and good chemistry between characters. This was hard to rate between 3 and 4 stars with a conclusion of nearly 4 stars. The book has a nice pace and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Wish the geeks were a bigger part of the story, but still good.

I thought this was a strange book. The descriptions of some characters were hilarious, but the actual plot of the book is much darker (seniors being murdered). The questions the book raised are very serious too-vengeance, healing after trauma, etc. I enjoyed the Minnesota setting a lot.
