Easy quick audio book, learn about an array of women from different time periods inventing and problem solving product, concepts and things we use and/or enjoy today. Good book for a YA reader interested in creative invention and/or science.

I really can't think how I came across this book - but I'm so glad I did. I was a little disappointed when I received it, as I thought it was a coffee table type book & this is a children's book. Once I picked it up though, it was hard to put down. Let's face it, the business of inventing is a pretty fascinating subject, regardless of gender! I would love to do some further reading on this subject and some of the ladies & inventions featured here. Also love the illustrations.

Not only is this book full of amazing stories of women inventors, but it's beautifully illustrated with a combination of line drawings and collages by the amazing Melissa Sweet. A great gift to the budding inventor in your life!

**** What do chocolate chip cookies, windshield wipers, Liquid Paper, and flat-bottomed paper bags all have in common? They were all invented by women. This book gives a fascinating glimpse into some of the many products that were invented by women. Each entry is 2-4 pages long and accompanied by neat collage-ish illustrations. The brief entries keep things interesting and source notes and further reading suggestions are included at the end. The endpapers include lists of other inventions by women, organized by year. A surefire hit for women's history month or any inventive young girls.
