Truly, the literary child of Marquez and Rushdie. I was not disappointed. It is the kind of literature for people like me, who love visceral, tough, hardcore and intensely emotional writing. Highly recommend this slow burn ride of madness.

This is one of the most detailed stories I've ever read. Taken from the third point-of-view, this story was written in the most detailed way. Every character has their own story, which are related to one another. Every one of them struggle with their own pain, their own perception, their own faith. We can see that each character was written very clearly, that I personally can not believe that this book was only written by one person. It's wonderful and full of history.

But on a different side, I can not see the meaning of the story. I believe that every creation and or art, always has something in it that could act as a mirror to the readers and connoisseurs. But for me personally, I couldn't mirror anything from this story. This story was great, and beautiful, and very enjoyable. But I couldn't relate or absorb into the story.

But, shout out to Eka Kurniawan, and congrats for the 21st year of this book.

There was far too much SA to the point that it wasnt a plot devise anymore and the story didnĀ“t draw me in either. I also lack the bacground information to trully understand the historycal background and references.

LOVE IT!!
