This is the most fun book I've read in a very long time, and by far the best mystery book I have ever read. I was thoroughly engaged the entire time and couldn't put it down! I got through it so fast. So many twists and turns, it constantly kept me guessing. SUCH a fun and engaging read.

This was really giving me Pretty Little Liars vibes! The plot was well done and there was so much depth to it, but I wish the author would've devoted just as much energy to shaping the main characters. Most of them lacked depth for me, including Pip who just seemed like another "I'm not like other girls" type of character--that is, until the last 50 pages or so, where she became a lot more dynamic for me. The college application part of the plot fell pretty flat for me personally, as well as the "threats" she was getting, which never really seemed that important until
Spoiler Barney died...which, in my opinion, wasn't necessary.
When it comes to the writing, there were definitely some cheesy parts but also some really pretty lines
Spoiler For instance, Pip getting drugged was written so well, I felt like I was really experiencing it!
. There is a LOT of information given to you in this book, and the author helps you keep track of it with the reports and suspect list that Pip has at the end of all of them. I really appreciated the map at the beginning and I wish we could've had more visual aids like that one
Spoiler I really wanted to see the murder board that Pip and Ravi made in part three, for example
. All of this information really started to pile up for me and got so messy to the point where I kept forgetting things and getting confused, and because of that, the ending was pretty underwhelming because I was learning so much at one time and I just couldn't keep up with everything at that point.
SpoilerAlso, why did Pip magically realize that it was Elliot and that he was keeping Andie in the house? In my opinion she didn't have nearly enough evidence for this and jumped to that conclusion VERY fast
Despite being kind of unrealistic, the ending was written pretty well. I liked how Pip called out the press for making Andie seem like a good person, when she was actually pretty awful.
SpoilerAlso, am I the only one who was convinced that Andie was still alive and behind all of this for like 90% of the book?

This book is about Pip who is in school and needing to write an EPQ for school. She chooses to write it about Andie Bell a girl who got murdered 5 years ago allegedly by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Pip doesn’t believe that Sal is guilty so she’s trying to find out if he really is innocent. Pip ends up getting help from Sals brother Ravi. What a journey this book was, I love the way holly Jackson wrote this book. It had the normal POV from Pip, included transcripts of interviews and production logs. This really kept me interested and made me think I was actually helping solve this murder as like a detective would.

I was a bit worried that I wasn’t going to get into the book from part 1 of the book but when I got to part 2 it really picked up the pace and I was drawn into the book, I couldn’t put it down! Every chapter had such major twists and I would of never guessed the plot ending! I do recommend having some tissues towards the end because I was not prepared for the Barney bit 😭.

This book is a thriller mystery book and I would say it’s aimed at young adult audience due to certain scenes in the book. If you’re looking for a good murder mystery I do recommend reading this book! I only gave it a 4⭐️ due to not getting into it straight away. This book is only written from the POV of Pip.

This started off really good I was invested in the case and the author kept uncovering evidence in a very fast pace I was really enjoying it but after approximately the first 100 pages all this fell down she just crammed everything in the beginning that the rest of the book was so boring all I was thinking that I just want to know who did it and get it over with. Also I found the author really extreme in describing who andie was like how could someone be THAT bad like it was too much. Also it was a very bad idea to Involve romance in the main plot it erased the mystery vibe completely this all felt like some cheap teen drama show. The reveal of who did it at the end wasn't shocking to me I won't say I was expecting it I wasn't but still my reaction was like "okay that sucks let's move" so yeah this wasn't a good experience for me definitely an overhyped book like so much more books out there it's really getting frustrating by now how much people hype bad books.
