This book felt so vivid and so real, and even though the narrator’s circumstances couldn’t be more different to mine it was still deeply relatable in a thought provoking way. This is a book for a specific audience, in fairness, but I am in that audience!

the prose was dense and there was far too much buildup for what seemed like a rushed ending. i felt it was a little on the nose — predictable what happens to the main character and offered no real resolution in a lazy way (not in the thought provoking, cheeky way). overall a quick read with notable highlights but had higher hopes based on recommendations.

Gives a look into the toxic environment of network TV. This book as it all... Ozempic, sexual assault, workaholism, mommy issues... I am not sure why I mistakenly went into this book thinking it would be darkly comic and then it just ended up being quite dark, tense and upsetting. It also somehow dragged on too long for my liking. Additionally I do NOT recommend the audiobook. The narrator's voice was not a good fit IMO.
