Well that was fun. I didn't plan on leaving reviews for texts I only am reading for classes, but I quite enjoyed this. Prior to this play, I'd only read Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. These being quite tragic stories, I was not really expecting something so lighthearted and whimsical as As You Like It. I found the relationships between characters to feel pretty realistic, whereas in the other two plays I previously mentioned, they felt a little more contrived for the sake of drama. Anyway. I don't have much else to say about this. I read along while watching a Royal Shakespeare Production of the play which definitely helped in regard to comprehension. I'd recommend watching along with this if you ever pick the play up.

2.5 - a fairly dull play but interesting for thinking about gender identities on the early modern stage...

Зате тепер я знаю, що саме звідси походить „All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players“.
