Subtracting just one letter makes an entirely different word! This book uses spelling patterns, vocabulary and word play to create humorous ideas. There is an invitation to children to create their own new words by removing a single letter.

Makes for a fun alphabet read aloud. Lot of giggles and silliness.

A funny, creative sort of alphabet book, but I'm not as in love with it as everyone else.

Dark, self-referential word puns (kinda like a Lemony Snicket vibe) where a word is presented with a letter of the alphabet (e.g. 'plate') and without (e.g. 'late') in a comical pairing.

Delightfully quirky and clever with fun illustrations that kids will adore. This could also spark a fantastic writing assignment for students in upper elementary.

Great idea, but not as good as it could have been

This book is so cute! It makes everyone think, especially if you read it without showing the pictures and having people guess.

Funny book about the alphabet, where the author turns common words into another one to know its value, like "Without the W, the witch has an itch." Idiosyncratic illustrations accompany the text.

A simple concept done very well. (I do feel they cheated a bit though with the Z!)

The illustrations and colour palette are great.
