Circenn Brodie. Where to start… I can only sum it up by stating that he is officially my ‘Jamie Fraser’ of the ‘paranormal’ genre. KMM somehow weaved all the qualities and tendencies of my ideal man into the main character of this book, Circenn Brodie (just like Diana Gabaldon did with Jamie Fraser). I love them both. Although this is only the third book in this series (and I still have 5 books to read), I do believe I’ve found my favourite. I won’t go into details since you can ascertain the basic plot from the description above, but the story itself is very well written, and I love how KMM thinks. Whenever a thought popped into my head along the lines of “wait.. but what about…” KMM answered it in the next few paragraphs. She is thorough, and I like that. Circenn is seriously my ideal man, but Lisa, the heroine is wonderful too. Her character was well written and I could totally identify with her.
No story/book is perfect, but I just don’t feel the need to point anything out regarding this book since there really isn’t anything that bothers me or any glaring issues I could point to. It was a great story and a well written book - I give it 4.5 stars - the ending was a bit too perfect for me or it would have gotten 5 stars. I am looking forward to the next one!

Liked this one the most so far. I think it’s because of Adam Black tbh

I thought it was okay. The romance was okay, but I actually found the historical and mythical aspects more interesting in this book. I like reading about the fae and how Adam Black manipulates time and space. Quite a trickster he is.

I love how this book went, with Circenn making a oath to Adam. And with Lisa letting her curiosity get the best of her. In this book you've combined two worlds into one. Lisa was sent back to fourteenth century Scotland, by ways of touching a cursed flask. Circenn Brodie a mighty fine immortal warrior had made an oath to kill whomever came with the flask. but at the mere sight of Lisa he knew he couldn't. Instead he started breaking his oaths ans lying, which ended up making him handfasted to Lisa. With a quite hilarious interlude and hot steamy chemistry these two people from two different worlds were meant to be together. And Circeen was going to make sure that their love lasts forever. Great read totally recommend this to anyone who loves feisty wine, sexy men in tartans, and the world of the fae.

Despite my insane love for The Fever Series, this series has been a real struggle. Hoping the next book is better.

Hmmmm, this makes me miss the Fever series.

The characters were without personality and the story was contrived. I wasn't overly impressed. I hope these books get better.
