This isn’t the best nor the worst mystery out there. It is probably because I was analyzing to much as I was reading. I was able to make some correct guesses on what was going to happen and who did what. My favorite character was Sarah Cash, and she wasn’t even the main character! Unlike the main character, Sarah was easier to relate with because she was thinking logically about the situation that they were all in, while the main character Dee was being risky and straight forward, with balls to the wall energy; Even after Dee said she wanted to stay out of risks and be under the radar. At one point there were three missing person cases happening in the story at once, each of them being explored in the story at the same time. I think this story had too many moving parts and if it focused on just a few, it would’ve been better executed. The elements I enjoyed was a platonic boy-girl friendship, the small-town setting, and the adults acting like adults in their roles, be it parents, detectives, dead-beats, or reporters.

The book was good, and I liked Dee, Burke and Sarah.

The plot was well-constructed and it definitely delivered on the premise. I liked the inclusion of transcripts of the podcast episodes, and also the subplot of Nia and Vanessa.
In general though did I hope for a better ending, or that it would’ve been better explained what had happened. For example, I would’ve loved to hear more thoroughly what happened to both missing girls in the end.

Also, I would’ve loved for a happy ending for the Chevy we never got.

Such a good story! This reminded me of Radio Silence by Alice Oseman but with a true crime aspect and it follows the Podcasters point of view. The story and heart to this story was great as Dee was trying to find her purpose after going through something traumatic as a kid. The multiple mystery elements was also great and I enjoyed this story.

Short chapters make this feel like a quick and easy to read book.
I did think the podcast was going to be more vital to the story, but it is more in the background and she doesn't work on it very often. The mystery started slower for me, but the last part of the book is difficult to put down. Lower stakes to intense action.

An interesting book, fun to read, and one I will be recommending often.
