A cute short story that took place during the winter holidays in 2021, when the bad c-word was something the whole world still worried about (not so much anymore). I loved meeting a character from Fangirl again, Reagan. I enjoyed her in this short story - didn't care much for her in Fangirl (at least from my memory - it's been years since I've read Fangirl and I should really do a reread!). I feel like the story is mainly about how going through the pandemic has changed/influenced both Reagan and Mason. Even though I liked the conversations between them, this story lacked something to really get me to love it.

“Fixated on repercussions” Let’s just say this is a short story about the pandemic, NOT about the holidays. But since the holidays bookend the story and the pandemic colored everyone’s holidays, it all wraps together well. If you didn’t change the way you lived your life during COVID, you’ll hate this story. If you, like me, can relate all too well with being fixated on repercussions during this time, it will resonate. A timely short story from a favorite author. Narration on the audio version wasn’t my favorite but seemed to fit the story.
