Never before in my life have I read a book and immediately wanted to read it again. This has easily become the best novel I've read in 2021!
Maybe sometime later when I'm not overcome by emotion, that this subtle yet evocative story produced in me, I will write a proper review.

O melhor livro de 2020. Disse. O melhor livro de 2020.

Pequeno, um pequeno livro. Tal como é frequente um livro pequeno no tamanho que se escreve sobre uma história grande e intensa. Uma surpresa. Gostei muito mesmo. São 120 páginas de fulgor criativo e de manejo de mestre da técnica narrativa.

Movida pelas comparações com «Stoner» de John Williams, adquiri esta «novidade» editorial e apressei o momento da sua leitura (quem é que quer demorar a ler um potencial «Stoner»?!).
A sua qualidade maior é a sua parca dimensão, terminando assim depressa o defraudar de expectativas.
Despontam no texto constantes e insistentes maneirismos próprios de quem desespera por se fazer notar enquanto génio, o que contrasta flagrantemente com a pretendida sóbria simplicidade existencial da personagem cuja vida inteira é o objecto narrado.
Talvez por isto tudo saiba tanto a falso: um pavão a contar a história de um corvo pobre e coxo... num desprendimento pretensamente desarmante, que na realidade é empáfia muito mal ocultada com fingida neutralidade frugal.
