Familiar characters growing up, more challenges. I think I’ve always adored how many different personalities Judy throws together in her books just to see how they’d work out - for both the children and the adults.

Gotta love Fudge! Perfect corollary to the Ramonas and Clementines of literature.
The mini book club I have is very excited to read this, we'll see how it goes!
Note for teachers : less outdated than Ramona, only minor technological references like "listening to tapes". Excellent for inferring lessons.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this was one of my most favorite books as a kid so I was super excited to share the audio book with Emily. It doesn’t feel old or dated at all. Kids being kids is a timeless sort of thing.
