Really liked this one! I think I’m going to have to reread these before the next one comes out to refresh myself on the magic system, and also reread it when my brain can fully lock in and digest the story. I did listen to the audiobook along with reading it and that helped to get my funny little brain to focus a bit more. It’s fully a me thing and not a this book thing bc I love Hannah’s writing and these characters. That said I’ll be able to do a more in depth review later.

Initial thoughts: I love Lore, Bastian and Gabe’s dynamic.

The 3 main characters were lack luster with Lore(MFC) being a very woe is me. Whining the entirety of what I read. Just couldn't get into the book. Unfortunately this seems my pattern with this Author, I enjoyed For the Wolf but could not get into or finish For the Throne.

I loved the Foxglove King and this book was a fantastic sequel following Lore as she gets used to life as not only the vessel for a goddess but also a future Queen.

There is so much tension in this book as well as twists that I was unprepared for.

We had a lot less of Gabe in this book as Lore and Bastian learn to discover who they are to one another. I’m desperate for the next book already.

Thank you NetGalley, Hannah Whitten and Gollanzc for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
