This book is one of the best I’ve read. It is like I’m seeing her life and actually not getting bored. This book is emotional but it is worth it. What I’d give to read it again for the first time

A really interesting new insight into WWII and the hardships suffered by Eastern European prisoners under the Nazi regime.

Excellent middle grade story of a young Ukranian girl captured and forced to labor for the Germans, first as a seamstress, then as a team of children assembling bombs. It unflinchingly provides the facts about the Holocaust and the aftermath of the war within the refugee camps. Fans of historical fiction will gobble this one up.

Another great book that my 13 year old insisted I read. Making Bombs for Hitler is a companion to the first book I read [b:Stolen Girl|39983557|Stolen Girl|Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1529198111l/39983557._SX50_.jpg|7288677]. It follows Lida, who is taken from her family and sent to a concentration camp. She starts off working in the laundry, and ends up making bombs for Hitler. Along the way she makes friends and has flashbacks about her family, wondering where they are and hoping they're ok.

Full of inhumanity, and based on true events, this story is told in a way that it touches you to your core, but allows people of all ages to understand the tragedies that once happened and should never happen again!

Good, not great. The title is a bit misleading, as the main character does not spend most of the book making bombs. It's a small part of her story, at best.
