honestly i feel that the overall idea behind this book is interesting, as well as a few of the plot points but the execution unfortunately wasn’t for me.
i am all for kinky reads, and while i don’t prefer it i am also fine reading about daddies, but in this case i had an issue with the dynamic between Declan and Owen. The way Declan doled out the “punishment” didn’t felt part of a typical BDSM dynamic, it felt abusive to me. The way Owen described feeling scared after Declan’s tone, or how much he hated certain “punishments” is not how a safe BDSM relationship works. This was especially strange as outside of the punishment aspect he was quite caring and soft on Owen, but I just couldn’t bring myself to read more unfortunately. I don’t know the author so I can’t speak for their work as a whole but it just felt to me like this was a poor representation of the BDSM community.

Eeeeek I need books 2 and 3 nowwww!!!

Such a good Daddy/Boy dynamic that had me wishing more of their story was written now.

I loved Owen and Declan. Their story line was powerful yet sweet in a crazy way!
And everything else happening had much of an impact to this story as everything else!

Omg I’m going to have to put on my patient pants and wait quietly!

I'm not going to rate because the tropes in this are not my thing. I only listened to audiobook bc I got sick of searching audible plus!

The huge age gap, the whole daddy thing. Baffles me. Makes me cringe but that's cos it's not my thing at all.

It's not badly written, it kept my attention, characters were OK. (except for James I hated that selfish bastard)

Probably not gonna move onto the next book

Quite enjoyable but I wish I had a warning about the medical trauma situations prior to reading. The climax had some graphic, and upsetting moments. I appreciate the well-written plot but I also wish I could have prepared mentally for the intense negative emotion-invoking conflict. I don't think I will read the rest of the series right now. Maybe in the future..

The Daddy thing is not exactly for me, but I knew that going into it, so I won't hold that against this book obviously. Aside from that aspect, I really enjoyed Declan! He's so sweet and I need to protect him at all costs. I really like Owen, too. Watching their relationship grow was fun and I loved seeing Declan spend his money on spoiling Owen. I enjoyed their relationship a lot and felt for Declan's health and family struggles. Owen's family struggles as well. 3/5 spice levels.

Taking Care of You

A sweet story with a diverse cast of characters.
Declan maybe overdid his attempt to push Owan away when he was sick. The books could really use another round with the editor, which was a bit frustrating, but I am interested in reading more about Declan and Owen in their next book.

Younger Daddy Dom/older boy.

Not the worst, and there was an actual story that was really well written - but the dynamic was a bit much for me, and the melodrama at the end did not work.
