Almost as good as the Beneath a Scarlet Sky. I think it would have been equal without the children characters. They drove me bonkers!

I listened to this via Audible. Fascinating story, based on real life. It covers a part of World War II and after, events I'd never heard about before. I would definitely recommend it.

This is an amazing book and based on a true story. Parts of it were edge of your seat adventure and other parts just dragged. There is a lot of religious dialogue which has been mentioned by other reviewers which is okay but becomes very repetitive. I got tired of it  honestly. But still a wonderful story!! If you like historical fiction it’s a winner.

Such a heartbreaking story that was beautifully told. Follows a family burdened under Stalin’s communism hoping for a way to break free together. Graphic descriptions of the horrendous conditions POW had to go through during World War II, but ultimately through their love and faith in one another, they made it to their Green Valley.
