So I admittedly purchased this author’s first book, barely made it two chapters, hated it, and gave it to someone else. When I saw this book recommended, I didn’t realize it was written by the same person. Had I realized, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one up. But I’m glad I did! She seems to have really matured (despite actually being older than me) in the years since her first book, and I 100% admire her transparency with her experience with mental illness. As someone diagnosed with OCD when I was young and ADHD as an adult, it helps me so much to hear others’ stories and not feel so alone. She tells her story in a lighthearted way and offers many practical pieces of advice for someone struggling with mental health. I’m glad I gave her a second chance, even if it was by accident.
