I so badly wanted to love this series and get sucked into it but I think I'll be ending the journey here instead of reading the rest of the 8 book series
Let me start with what I loved: Bishop. If you love your book boyfriends toxic, full of red flags, rough in bed and totally in charge than he is perfect. This is a dark bully romance and Bishop certainly fits MMC you want in a dark mafia type man. The spicy scenes in this book are exactly what you'd expect to find in this genre. And the spicy times are great, probably what kept me hanging on.
But I think the thing about suspenseful books in any genre is that you have to slowly keep revealing secrets and unraveling them. You have to get clues and pieces of the puzzle that keep you hooked but don't spoil the major plot twist you know is coming. This book or first two books miss that mark for me. Every surprise or revelation that comes along only provides more questions or in my opinion plot holes. Maybe many of these plot holes will be fixed in the subsequent books in the series but I just can't hang on anymore. There is only so many times you can use "surprise you have a brother" in one series.
The thing that really absolutely seals the deal for me to not finish the series is: THE BOOK! EVERYONE IS SCREAMING JUST READ THE BOOK WITH ALL THE ANSWERS MADISON!! She had a 20 hour flight and couldn't find the time to read the book? She had two months with no school, no job, no family, no friends except Tate and she couldn't read the book? She sure as hell found time to freakin party and get drunk. Everyone: Madison be careful! There's like dozens of people trying to kill you and you can't trust anyone. Madison: *chugs alcohol* ooh look a shiny new stranger to trust!

Best series I've read so far!
If I could give this 10 stars I definitely would! I could not stop reading! I read this in a day which is not like me...I love this series! There are so many twist and turns you just don't see them coming! I will definitely recommend this series to everyone!

Questions answered just as so many more questions arise! The Broken Puppet picks up right where The Silver Swan leaves off. This book is filled with all the twists and turns of the first book and I am so invested in the Kings! Madison and Bishop are toxic and hot as a couple and I'm ready to dive into book 3 to see what happens next!

Still trashy. Still fanfiction-y. Still kept me interested. Still curious to know what happens next.
