Sorry, this wasn't good. Nothing happened. Many plot holes. Rushed relationship and main characters I don't care for. Awkward dialogue and writing.

Also, how did Emilie learn to flip houses so fast?

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this title. This was a delightful book, even though it dealt with some difficult subjects like addiction and grief. I love stories that switch narrators and weave the tale of two lives coming together, and this one did both flawlessly. I'm also a sucker for a queer romance. I devoured this book, and recommend for any fans of queer lit.

I love character driven novels, so this worked for me! Highlights were the character growth, the writing itself, and the yerba buena motif. This was also my third Nina LaCour novel, and I’ve found that her books are a masterclass in establishing mood.
