If you thought you had already read this book, keep going. It starts at the same point as the prior story.

The groundwork has been meticulously laid for Corin's ascension to godhood. It's early days but the list of potential abilities to which he will have access is nothing short of world-changing. At the same time, I'm losing enthusiasm. At this rate, it will take a further twenty books to complete Corin's arc.

I think I've mentioned, in prior reviews, my problem with the spire-challenges. They feel more like dream sequences than real-life. I'm not emotionally invested. Since spire-challenges or competitions represent about a quarter of these books, that is a big problem for me.

I'm still motivated enough to continue reading within this extended universe... but I can see the end coming.

Technically my second reading. Audiobook came out half a year later so I figured "why not?". Don't know if there were any changes on the audio version, but the second read through was somehow more enjoyable.

This book is set during their school holidays, and similarly it feels like a break from the main story. There was no character growth, or progression with the main story.

The story mostly focused on Corin, with some Sarah. The others were rarely seen, and I didn't enjoy that.

That aside, it was a nice read, filled with stories similar to the tower rooms. Just not a lot of substance. Still looking forward to more.

Nice fast read(listen) but no movement on the story at all.
