Was going to give it only two stars but
love that they broke up as the ending😂 even tho I know they get back together🙄 Not cool for the author to not answer all questions or fill-in character/plot holes but to purposely drag it out into another book🙄🙄

I have seen the movies and I was pleasantly surprised that the book was way more intriguing. The characters are more natural and have a better connection in the book. I liked the emails written it gave the book a nice format. The ending was abrupt.

The biggest thing about the book, that I liked, was the characters. They had a better connection in my opinion than the actors in the movie.

Seemed like the right time to finally give this a shot, was not disappointed. I am slightly baffled as to what made this one particular erotic novel become the absolute pop culture phenomenon that it did, but I have no complaints

Please don't hate me but when a book is picked up in the hopes of good smut, I expect good smut. This was not it. Out of all the words for female genitalia this author could have chosen... If I have to read he touched my sex one more time 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ana is an indecisive whiny main character. Grey has no character development and I get that mystery is part of his persona but give me something. My favorite characters were side characters Kate and Taylor who had very little to do with the story.

This may be the first time I've ever said this but the movie was better.

I will be very blunt.

I read this when I was 15 (too young, I know), and even at the time I could not believe that a grown adult wrote this. It reads like a bad fanfic written by a teen.

I am not even going to get into this abusive relationship depicted as romantic, and somehow desirable. Shameful.

This book is nothing more than another poorly written sexual romp.

Initial thoughts: This is the only book I’ve ever listened to in 3x speed because it’s the only book I was fine with only halfway comprehending. It was in Libby’s “Available Now” section, so I borrowed it. And no, I am not sure why I did it.

Reflection: But as it turns out, I feel that I have gained something by reading this series. I actually ended up listening to the audiobooks twice. The relationship is undoubtedly complicated, and so are many real ones, so it was interesting to analyze its evolution.

I ended up adding a half-star to my previous 2.5 after my second read.
