My first Hiaasen, which I picked up some time ago but have just been inspired to read as we're going to be spending some time in Florida later this year. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Funny, dark, original, with interesting characters. I was very pleased with how things ended up for most of them, which is saying more about my own character than the plot of the book.

This is another disappointing reread. Skink is always entertaining, but a lot of the other characters feel flat. I remember all these books as being so much better than they are when I reread them.

1st half of the book has me giggling at the characters and the situations. It is a book steeped with absurd degenerates. You probably know all the types. I love Stink the most. His Dante-ian style justice is priceless. But book drug on about 100 pages too many and ended a little flat to the build up.

I love Carl Hiaasen. His writing is very entertaining and every book of his I have read so far is a quick, page turning read.

Hilarious as usual, and very much entertained by their dialogues which came out so natural. At one point I wasn't sure where the story was heading, regardless it was a good ride. I love all his colorful characters whether they are the good guys or crooks.

This was a fun read; it had it had its ups and downs, but the ups beat the downs and made it all worthwhile.
