3.5, very solid start to a series. The book started a little slow but then picked up and stayed there. There was a decent amount of exposition but not everything is spoon-fed to you, so it was fun to guess abilities or plot points.

Negative aspects would be the poorly written female characters. In a world with magic there were times when the actions women took or how women were presented took me out of the story completely.

O maior problema foi que o personagem principal é um garoto insuportável, e também algumas partes bem estranhas, mas a história e os outros pontos de vista salvaram o livro para mim.

Easily one of the best books I've read in the last year. Curse and bless you Brent Weeks for making it the start of a series.

I wish I had realized this was YA before I started it. I’m definitely not the target demographic for this book as I’m not a teenage boy.
This book had a lot of fat phobia and but of sexism.
The magic system was interesting enough. I have no intention of reading further into the series.
