I don't know what to feel with this book. For one, I hate Jessie's immaturity. I mean, I get that she has a trauma of people leaving her but seriously, it's just an excuse for her to act like a mean 4-year-old. Second, her pranks infuriated me and her roller coaster emotions gave me whiplash. The only thing that made me finish the book is by skimming through those boring phases because I hate DNFing books. Good thing Drew put his foot down and did not give up until Jessie could see sense and they had a pretty good HEA in the end.

You know that feeling when you really want to LOVE a book, but you only LIKE it, and the fact that you didn't LOVE it makes the fact that you only LIKED it even worse? That's kind of what this was like.

I really liked the first book in this duology a LOT, and was hoping that this one would give me the same feel, but unfortunately it never really hit. The pranks were fun, the chemistry was there, but it all felt kinda forced - and the enemies to lovers part of it was especially forced. I spent a good portion of the book not understanding the origin of the animosity between the two MCs, and by the time it's explained (which was a valid explanation) it had been too long in coming to have the impact it was supposed to.

I still loved the writing, and I loved how real the characters felt - but the length of the enemies to lovers part kinda drove me bonkers. (Also it's pretty insta-love-y as soon as the enemies part is done, for those that aren't a huge fan of that.)

I'll definitely keep reading Sarah Adams, because her books feel like a great big hug and I genuinely enjoy the way I feel reading these characters' stories - but this one wasn't my favorite.
