not as good as the first one, but i had fun!!! i love christmas!!! i love dash & lily!!!! they make me feel even lonelier than i already am on a daily basis!!!
i am so dash in this book, so like when an i gonna fall in love with someone who’s family will also love me & basically adopt me into their family and invite me to all their gatherings????
also reading this just made me mourn the fact that we never got more seasons of the show :(((

Found this in the digital library after watching the first season on Netflix not realising that it was a book and was in fact a series at that. If you have seen Dash and Lily on streaming then you will agree that it is completely charming and this second book in the series is no different. It's short and sweet with all the things we loved about the TV show only with more Dash and Lily together.
As with every other teenybopper book these two would feel a whole lot better if they plucked up the courage and just communicated. I also had a real problem with Lily's extended family that once again they simultaneously treated her like a child but were quite happy to up and leave her to fend for herself most of the time.
There is a third book in the series and since it is the season. I'll probably read it all the while grinning like a kipper.

Despite not being head over heels for the first book, I still wanted to read this one, so I feel like that’s a good sign. Overall, it wasn’t too enjoyable because the relationship was strained, which translated to a not-so-delightful book. I’m not sure I’d read more of these characters.

I love the Christmas atmosphere and this book was the perfect Christmas read. I like the journey that they had to navigate, very relatable.

My kids and I have been rewatching Dash and Lily on Netflix so when I found out there were more books in this series I was delighted. I listened to this story and really felt the story can somewhat stand on its own. I appreciated the real-life representation of what it’s like when a person who loves the holiday season is hit hard by the holiday blues.

3.5 Stars. Mainly because Dash is just lovely.
Leaving it at 3 stars because Lily's character change, while necessary and important, took away from the story and took me out of the story.

I loved Dash & Lily's Book of Dares.
I was not a fan of this one.
Where the first one felt magical. This one was surprisingly annoying. Wholly unnecessary.
Dash's POV's were narrative heavy for such a short book. I was excited to read from him POV but his thoughts were boring. I commend him for trying so hard to get Lily to cheer up when she spent most of the book avoiding him or being soooo selfish.
Lily's POV was too angsty, childish and annoying. Lily really got on my nerves most of the time. I was sympathetic of her situation with her grandpa, but it has been months and she was not being fair with Dash, at all. Her parents should have been more supportive and sought help for Lily because she was clearly depressed by the thought of losing her grandpa.
The lack of communication between them was too much, I wanted to smack them over the head. It felt that they had aged down and not up in this book.
I got zero Christmasy feelings from reading this. Too angsty for my taste. I hope the next one is better!

I heart Dash and Lily. Parts of these books are so over the top goofy and unbelievable that it takes away from the rest. But I can forgive those few scenes for the love and banter of the couple and their families. Also I want to go to New York. Also props for the subtle nods to Hamilton in this book.
