The plot was interesting, but there were a lot of unnecessary details throughout the book that I felt dragged away from the story line. I didn't really start enjoying the book until it was more than halfway through, and even then I only mildly enjoyed it.

Still, I'm glad I read it!

I liked that 1984-ish style, between Orwell and Barjavel.
The ending wasn't enough ending for me but I guess that's the effect PD James wanted.

Somehow more mundane and also more intense than I was expecting.

Really struggled to get into this book to start with, but really enjoyed it in the end.

it is………a very weird time in human history to read a book about the probable extinction of humanity.
