Free Palestine 🇵🇸

While by nature of being an anthology the book can feel a little repetitive at times, the essays helped me connect a lot of gaps in my understanding of how and why Palestine and the Palestinian movement arrived and its current state. And the essays do an admirable job injecting political theory into the Palestine movement without stumbling over inscrutable vocabulary and archane terms.

I know this is a cliche to say, but this book feels like it could have been written last week, not four years ago. It is haunting how well the essays in this predict the current atrocities faced by Palestinians in Gaza, while also providing a dense history of how we got here. I’m someone that considers myself relatively educated on Palestine for an average person, and even then I felt like I knew nothing compared to how much there was to learn from this book, especially with regards to how labor and socialism intersects with Palestinian history and present day. That being said, it is dense at times and took me a while to get through, but it’s 100% worth it in my opinion, though it being called an “introduction” is perhaps a bit misleading considering how much there is to sift through.
