It's a little outside my usual reading and while I enjoyed it, it's not what I want right now. (definitely colors my rating!)
Things I enjoyed:
- The unique (new to me) perspective of including Kane's perspective and internal dialog/thoughts.
- The author's notes on what he did and found in researching various areas and technologies for this book. (Hello, I'd like to take a submarine tour, that's cool!)
- Very easy for me to visualize the action sequences and follow what was happening.
Things I didn't enjoy:
- You "meet" 3-4 women and each one is described as very attractive and if Tucker would have a chance to be with him. This book was published in 2014 and that makes me angry. c'mon man, do better. (But points for giving them all personalities that have depth!)
- In Kane's perspective, the description of Tucker's order "flashing" in his mind's view felt very ... videogame-y and weird. I'm not sure I have a better suggestion to convey that Kane is focused on the orders given though. :\
