There are 3 short tales in this story:

Sir Didymus’ Grand Day
Wisdom & Idioms
Stone Cold

The artwork is amazing. We get to go back to Jim Henson’s Labyrinth from the movie and catch up with a few of the beloved characters. I do love Sir Didymus. Ludo is in the last story. The stories are short and not a whole lot to them, but I still thought it was great to go back to the labyrinth. I still love that movie. The kids are old enough I want to show it to them.

The nephew thought this was a great book. Sir Didymus was a favorite of his. He didn’t understand the bird on the old wizard’s head. Ludo at the end was funny to him. He doesn’t know what the stories reference and so he didn’t understand what was happening. You need to have seen the movie to really get what’s going on. He still liked the characters and he gave this 4 stars.

I loved seeing all these characters again but I was left wanting more. There really wasn't much to these stories at all.

A little disappointing. Labyrinth is my favorite movie and so I was very excited to get my hands on this book and revisit Henson's brilliant characters. Unfortunately none of the three stories offered much of a story at all. The characters and plot seemed written for the lowest common denominator. I also didn't care much for the art style.

The whole thing was just a bit lacking in imagination and creativity.

Well, turns out I already read all these in the 30th anniversary special. But they're still cute stories with good illustrations. Actually, I think these were my 3 favorites from the special because of the illustrations.

It was so lovely to revisit one of my absolutely favorite fictional worlds. The art is magnificent. My only complaint is that it was far, far, far too short. But the spirit of the world and characters was spot on. ❤️❤️❤️

I am a huge Labyrinth fan so when I saw this cute looking book being published, I immediately pre-ordered it.

Plot:

The story is divided into three parts where different characters have adventures and meet up with other characters. I think my favorite was Ludo's though they were all cute.

Setting:

I adore the Labyrinth and the setting looks just like the movie in illustrated form.

Characters:

I pretty much love all of the characters from Labyrinth and they were pretty true to form in this book. The highlight was seeing the worm featured in two of the stories because he's my favorite. The junk woman is also in one of them which was awesome because I've always had a soft spot for her.

Relationships:

There really isn't enough story for any new relationships to really make an impact but I did like how major characters (Ludo, Sir Didymus, Hoggle) interacted with some of the classic but lesser focus characters.

Writing/Voice:

The writing fit the characters and story.

Illustrations:

The illustrations are stunning. My dad, who has never seen Labyrinth, actually saw the book and said it reminded him of The Dark Crystal, which he has seen. He seemed pretty interested just by looking at the art.

Ending:

The ending is kinda sad but adorable at the same time. It fit the characters and story well.

Overall, loved it. Labyrinth fans will adore it and I could see kids being enchanted as well. Would be a great way to introduce little ones to the world of the Labyrinth!
